Hey there! Pleased that so many people like the photo :) I visited a Vietnamese Buddhist Temple in the summer when I was in France. It was the first time I had seen a lotus pond, truly beautiful, like something from another world. I love lotuses and how they grow in mud. How something so beautiful emerges from muddy waters, that thought inspires me :) Boy do I have a lot of mud! I have another image of the lotus pond from another perspective which i'll put on my blog.
It's a wonderful place, and, yes, this is a great photo. Fancy getting yourself featured on the Home page within 48 hours of starting Voxing - and auspicious beginning! Namo Amida Bu
Hey there, I'm not sure what language Quan Shi Yin is. I think it may be Pali but I'll check it out and let you know. But yeah, Quan Shi Yin and Kuan Yin are referring to the same Bodhisattva in Buddhism, also sometimes know as Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of great compassion. Pleased you like the photo :)
this is a lovely picture. thanks for sharing. i took a bunch of pictures from the local Vietnamese Buddhist center a while ago when they were touring the "relics" that are going to be entombed in that really big shrine they are building. the compound was beautiful and peaceful. if it wasn't so far away i would go more often.
i'll have to find them and post them. thanks for reminding me
Pleased you like the photo :) Where about is your local Buddhist Vietnamese Temple? Will be great to see your photos of the ceremony of the relics. Very pleased to be added as your friend :) With metta

Is Quan Shi Yin the Vietnamese name for Kuan Yin? Just curious.
